Welcome to the Marriot. Would you like a towel?

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am in the middle of a bathroom makeover. Justin has watched me putting up tape, carrying ladders up the stairs, painting, and hauling cabinets in and out of the garage. I don't think he really understood what I was doing until he walked into the bathroom as I was finishing up the paint. He then surprised me with this gem. . ."Wow mom, this is cool! You are making our house look just like a hotel!"

I have no idea where he comes up with these things!!

Yes, we are still alive

I have been totally neglecting this little family blog of mine. We have been busy, but we haven't done anything very interesting. I haven't really thought that any of our activities were blog worthy. I mean who wants to read about how we've been setting goals, cleaning house, organizing, and just hanging out. Pretty boring stuff. But that's pretty much what we've been up to.

We are, however, undertaking a few large projects. I have decided that after 10 years, it is time to redecorate the upstairs boys bathroom. It still has the same pink and blue towels that we got when we were married. Pink and blue. And we have no girls. Not exactly great color options when you have a house full of boys. Not to mention that they are totally frayed and falling apart.

So, I am doing a total makeover. Tan and mossy green will be the new colors. I took down the disgusting shower curtain, the rod, and all of the hardware in the bathroom. I picked out and bought the paint all by myself. I even took down the medicine cabinet. OK, Wes did help with that one, I'm not superwoman after all.

I have scoured every inch of the bathroom, sanded and washed the walls, and started taping. I am hoping to start painting in the morning. I am totally excited and can't wait to see the transformation. I will post the before and after photos when I am finished.

Also, I have good news about our leaky moldy disgusting shower in the master bathroom. It has needed to be replaced for more than two years. Two years! It's one of those things we just kept meaning to do but never got around to. Tomorrow, yes-tomorrow, we are having a tile guy come give us a bid. WOOHOO!! I can't believe it's actually happening. I am totally psyched!!!

Now I really need to get the boys bathroom done, because it would be a really bad thing to have to go all the way down to the basement every time we need a shower. Great motivation for me!
