Homecoming

Brandon went to Homecoming last night. One of the bad things about being the mother of the boy is that he has to leave to pick up his date, so I don't get to take any pictures of them together. So I just snapped this one of him before he left.
He asked out one of his cute friends named Sierra. They went with about 8 other couples. First they met at a park and had marshmallow wars and played kickball. Then they took a break to get ready for the dance. They got pictures taken, ate dinner at Nathan's house, went to the dance, then had dessert at Chandler's house. Brandon is a man of very few words, but from what I can tell, he had a good time. And he thinks Sierra did too. I am so glad he has such an awesome group of friends!!

5 months old

Rachel continues to be the light of our lives. Wes commented once that around here baby giggles are like crack. We will do anything to get them. It made me laugh, but it is so true! We all gather around her trying to make her smile or giggle. It is just so stinking cute!

She continues to be a very happy baby. She is rolling all over the place now, so it's no use for me to put a blanket on the floor. She still loves her swing, and her bumbo. She loves it when people pay attention to her, and she will smile at anyone. Every time we take her anywhere someone comes up to tell us how ADORABLE she is. We totally agree!

I Can Make Pumpkins, Just Not Eye Contact

In case you missed it on my website, I was invited to do a craft segment on a local news program called Fresh Living. I made one of these:

Surprisingly, I wasn't even nervous. They didn't prep me at all, but just before the camera rolled, Debbie told me not to look at the camera, but to look at her and Kasey. So for the entire clip, I was paranoid that I would look at the camera. Which was awkward, because I'm used to teaching classes in which you actually do look at the audience.

Turns out it would have been fine to look at the camera, they just didn't want me to freeze up and stare at it. So instead I look like I'm afraid to look up. Haha.

Oh, and I called two sided tape "two sided glue." Didn't even notice till I watched the show later. Ooops!

Eagle Court of Honor--Finally!

We were starting to wonder if this day would ever happen. Brandon actually completed his Eagle Scout project back in August of 2008. It took almost two years for him to get the paperwork done and have his Eagle board of review. June of 2010 to be exact.

Then he decided he wanted to wait for his buddy Chandler to earn his Eagle so they could have the Eagle court together. So here we are, three years later, finally having the Eagle court of honor. I'm counting it as a small miracle that I didn't loose the awards after all that time! ;)

Brandon chose his Teacher's Quorum Advisor as his mentor.
Brandon and Chandler. They've been friends since they were both in diapers.
We are so darn proud of you Brandon!!

Cute Little Piggies

Rachel has discovered her cute little toes. We get a kick out of watching her try to get them in her mouth. As you can see, sometimes she is successful! :)

Onion Days Parade

One of our neighboring towns does a city celebration over Labor Day. Brandon's marching band was marching in the parade, so we left the family reunion early so he could make it back in time. It doesn't look like it, but the boys actually had fun, because lots of people were throwing out candy.

Unfortunately, as they passed us, the drummers were the ones performing, so we didn't get to hear him play. It was still fun to see him in a real parade though!
