Trouble Maker

Rachel found the basket of Easter eggs on my front entry table. She is obsessed with them. I've found her pounding them together, rolling them across the floor, dropping them, and licking them. Her latest trick? Throwing them over the side of the safety gate. Heaven help me.

Color Festival

There is a Hari Krishna temple close to us that does a Color Festival every spring. It is hugely popular and thousands of people come every year. The whole street is lined with cars for blocks and blocks. I've never been because the thought of all those people all together in a small space makes me hyperventilate, even if it is outside.
Apparently at different times throughout the day, everyone throws bags of powdered colored chalk up in the air. You can see the cloud from miles away. This year some of Spencer's friends invited him to go with them. He came home looking like this:
Egads! He had a great time, but I'm pretty sure I won't ever be going. Even if they paid me. ;)

Pretty Pouter

I put this cute little dress on Rachel this morning and just had to do a photo shoot. She is just so darn pretty! She was happy for awhile because she has figured out how to make the chair rock and she thought that was just groovy.
But then she decided to stand up in the chair and try to rock it. I told her no and made her sit down. She was NOT happy with me, and made the most adorable pouty face.
She's a cutie patootie even when she's mad. :)

Looks Can Be Deceiving

Do not let this cute little innocent face deceive you.
As soon as your back is turned, she will be up to no good!

The One in Which I Almost Had a Heart Attack

Apparently little Rachel is prone to having nosebleeds. The first one was a couple of weeks ago during naptime. She woke up and I heard her playing in her crib. I went up to get her and when I opened the door I almost totally freaked out. There was blood EVERYWHERE! Her whole face was covered, her shirt was bloody, and the sheets were all crusted with blood. So scary!

The only thing that stopped me from screaming and possibly wetting my pants is that she was happy as a lark. So I quickly realized that she wasn't hurt, and that it was just a bloody nose.

The other day she was upstairs with the boys and her nose started bleeding just randomly. She doesn't even notice, but it sure does freak this mamma out! We're hoping it's just because of our darn dry winter air, and we're putting the humidifier in her room to see if it helps.

Arrow of Light

Tyler actually earned his wolf badge back in November, but had to wait till he turned 11 before he could graduate from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. He also earned his Arrow of light, so I got to draw on his forehead. Unfortunetely, Brandon had a concert the same night, and Spencer needed to attend for one of his classes, so I didn't have anyone to take a picture at the Awards Night. I snapped this one after we came home.
I am proud of Tyler and excited for him to be an 11-year old scout. He gets to go on camp-outs now, so I know he'll have a ton of fun!

Life Scout

Spencer is on the path to earning his Eagle. Early on the path, but on the path nonetheless. :)
That Communications merit badge almost did him in, but he finally earned it and passed off his Life Scout. Hallelujah!
