A Question, and An Answer

Brandon has a great group of friends. When it comes time for school dances, the girls ask out the boys, and vice versa. So with Homecoming coming up, it was time for the boys to do the asking. I was afraid I would have to do a lot of convincing, but Brandon announced on his own that he needed to ask someone. One of the girls, Sierra, just turned 16, so Brandon decided to ask her.

He bought a box of those Scrabble Cheese-its, and removed all the letters in his name. Then he left a note asking her, and signed it "The Missing Letters". If I would have been on the ball, I would have gotten a photo. Dang.

Sunday afternoon, Tyler came in and told us that there was some corn in our yard. Brandon went out and saw Sierra's answer. I thought it was so cute. He pulled all the stakes out before I could get a photo, so I had him lay them back down on the grass. Didn't want to miss the second photo op in a row. ;)

This is what she left:
Ah, the joys of clever date asking and answering. I remember it like it was just yesterday. So much fun!

First Day of School

Alas, the summer is over, and the boys headed back to school this morning. I am never, ever ready for school to start. I like having everyone around for the summer, and I love that we can make our own schedule. Fortunately they all enjoy school, so I don't have to drag anyone kicking and screaming!

Brandon is starting 11th grade. Holey cow!
For the first time ever, we actually have someone driving to school. So very strange. In a make me feel like I'm a hundred years old kinda way. ;)
Spencer is starting 8th grade.

Tyler is starting 5th grade.
And Justin is starting 2nd grade.
I don't know who's going to miss them more, me or Rachel.

Four Months Old

Our little girl is growing up so fast! She is the happiest baby, and her smiles are just contagious! She is now rolling both from tummy to back, and from back to tummy. She can't get around very fast, but she rolls off of her blanket all the time. I think I'd better clean the carpets! :0)

She loves it when her brothers hold her:She loves sitting in her Bumbo so she can see all of the action. And she adores sucking on her fingers!

Her favorite place to take naps is in her swing. With the music playing. She fell asleep chewing on her little giraffe. So cute!
It is so fun having such a cute model for all the hair clips I sell in my Etsy shop!

Who Needs TV. . .

when you can just watch videos of your favorite shows online:
Yep, this scene has been a little too common at our house this summer. It totally makes me laugh, because they are all just standing around watching. They don't even care that it isn't comfortable. Even Rachel is in on the action:
But hey, at least they are all getting along. And no messes are being made. :)

A New Discovery

Rachel has found a new favorite "toy". It just so happens that it is her hair. She is always playing with it, and even pulling it out. Silly girl. I sure hope she doesn't make any bald spots!

Happy Birthday to my Awesome Hubbie!

We celebrated Wes's birthday on Sunday. It was just a small family affair.

Cake.
Ice cream.
Presents.

Nothing fancy. It's possible we may have even been out of candles because a certain female forgot to put them on the shopping list. Ahem.

But it was still a fun day. At least I thought so. Hopefully Wes agrees!

Happy birthday sweetheart. You are just as amazing and good looking as the day we got married.

I take that back. You are even more good lookin' now!
