The Last Few Days

Last Wednesday my sister Mel came to visit with 2 year old Dessie. It was lots of fun visiting with her and relaxing. She also helped me start my warm window shade and curtains for the basement. Thanks Mel! The project still isn't finished and I wish you were still here to help me because I wouldn't be swearing as much. It has been nothing but frustrating from the start! It will be a miracle if they actually turn out.

Dessie is just stinkin' cute and we all love it when she comes because she keeps us laughing the whole time. This is just one of the many funny things she did. My boys were asking her to say all of the animal sounds, and this is how the conversation ended:
Boys: "What does a pig say?" Dessie: "Oink, oink."
Boys: "What does a doggie say? Dessie: "Ruff, ruff."
Boys: "What does a chicken say? Dessie thinks for a minute and says: "Don't eat chicken?"
It was hysterical!!

Saturday morning we all woke up and went to Brandon's tournament basketball game. He played really well and his team won, so they have another game tonight. It is sure fun watching him play!

After the game we headed to Home Depot to pick up wood for another project I am tackling. While there we discovered that they were doing a free craft project for kids. Apparently they do it the first Saturday of every month. I went out to the car and brought in the three youngest boys. They had a blast making mini derby racetracks. Wes took these pictures of them:
They spent yesterday afternoon racing hot wheels cars. I'd say the project was a success. Which is more than I can say about my darn window coverings!

I hope we never run out of this!

I overheard this conversation yesterday afternoon. The boys had just returned from piano lessons and were feeling a little bit of cabin fever:

Spencer: "Mom, I'm going outside to get some fresh air."
Justin: "I wanna go too! Is there any left for me?"

Tyler's Baptism

Yesterday was a big day at our house. Tyler was baptized! We are so proud of him and his decision. He is an amazing boy and we are so glad he's in our family. He was baptized by his dad:

We were lucky that lots of our family was able to be with us for this special day. After the baptism we hung out at the house eating, playing games, and visiting. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend that I think Tyler will remember for a long time!
