Happy Birthday Justin!!

Today Justin is turning 7 years old. I can't believe how much he is growing up. He is such a delight to have in our family. He makes us laugh almost every single day!
We were going to have his birthday party tomorrow, but he wanted to go golfing and the forecast called for snow, so we opted to move it to next week. It's a good thing, because the weatherman was right and it is snowing already. Dang!

People in our ward are being so awesome and are bringing dinner in. Tonight my friend Vanessa just happened to bring a cake for dessert. How cool is that? Spencer and Wes are on a campout, but the rest of us sang to him and had him blow out candles. We are saving the opening of presents for tomorrow when Wes and Spencer are here.

Highlights from our trip to California

What a week! Staying at a hotel room with a brand new baby is not the most fun in the world, but we made the best of it.
We actually stayed at three different hotels, but we spent the last five nights at the Holiday Inn Express in El Dorado Hills. It was definitely the best of the three. Not only was the staff totally friendly and the rooms very clean, but they have a HUGE bathroom vanity. A must when you are getting up several times a night to make bottles! The fridge and microwave in the room were also lifesavers.

This girl kept us sane over in California. Jennifer from Little Angels. I've been speaking with her on the phone for months, and it was awesome to finally meet her. She met us at the airport with our precious little bundle. She answered all our questions. She held our hands through some tough situations, and kept me from having total meltdown. She is truly amazing, and we couldn't have done it without her!
It was hard spending Easter Sunday away from our boys. We went to church that morning, but to pass some time we drove to the Sacrmento temple Sunday afternoon. It is gorgeous!

Our Family Just Grew By Two Feet!

I have a tendency to use 20 words when five would probably do, so I'll not bore you with every single detail, but let me just say that we are in absolute baby heaven!!

We got the call Tuesday that we had been chosen by an amazing birth mother named Janette. That evening we brought our new baby girl back to our hotel with us. It has been unbelievable! She is absolutely beautiful and we are so in love with her. I swear she gets cuter every single time we look at her! We are naming her Rachel, and she has totally captured our hearts.

After waiting for six years, it is hard to believe that she is finally here. She is even more perfect than I ever dreamed. We are so very grateful for her, and for her angel birth mother. I won't go into all the details of how she came to be in our family, that is Janette's story. But I know that God had a hand in our baby girl ending up where she belongs. We are so blessed!!!
