Spring Piano Recital

The spring recital was a little late this year. The poor piano teacher had to re-schedule it three times before she found a day that worked for most of the students. I felt bad because we were late. We were all ready to go, but when I loaded everyone in the car I realized that I had forgotten about Justin's friend that was playing at our house. I needed to drive her home. Ooops!

It was a good concert and the boys did better than they thought they did. They are all a little hard on themselves. Justin is starting piano lessons this summer, so for the next recital we will have four performers. Wow!

Brandon played Midnight Rhapsody:

Spencer played Kool Dudes:

Tyler played Victory Bells:

Here is a shot of the three of them. You can tell how thrilled they are. ;)

Kindergarten Graduation

Wes and the boys are all at the Fathers and Sons campout, and I have the whole house to myself. It is strange, but I think I will enjoy it! Until it's time for bed. I hate trying to fall asleep when I'm the only one here. Totally freaks me out!

We started our day off by going to Justin's Kindergarten Graduation. I love going to them. The kids are always so darn cute and they do a great job. I tried very hard not to think about the possibility that this could be our last kindergartner. Because I did NOT want to cry through the entire program. I actually did better than I thought, and didn't even cry at all. Whewww!
Here are a few photos that Wes got:

The picture of him getting his diploma didn't turn out, but we did get one of him with his awesome teacher Mrs. Peterson.

And on the way out, we saw his buddy Hunter, so I snapped a shot of the two of them. It was a great morning. We are so proud of you Justin!

Something Exciting Happened!

I know I just posted this morning about nothing happens around here. Well, something just happened. It's not huge, but it made my day. It doesn't take a lot to make me happy, OK?
Our pass along cards just came in the mail! It took me forever to design them because I still struggle with Photoshop, but I love how they turned out. Don't you?
Now we just need to get them into the hands of as many people as we can. We will be giving them to all of you, just in case you ever happen to hear of a birth mother. If any of you have an office or business where you come in contact with lots of people, we would love it if you would take some extras to have on hand. We know our birth mother is out there somewhere, we just need to find her!

We appreciate all your prayers and efforts in our behalf! We are hoping that these cards will help us find our princess a little sooner. :)

Oh, and just in case you have a blog, we fixed the button link over there in the top right corner. Let us know if it doesn't work for you. We'd be happy to help.

Nothing Exciting=No Motivation to Write

Sorry to all our friends and family who check this blog to see what we are up to. I am having a seriously hard time keeping up with this family blog. It is so much easier to post a recipe or share a project I'm working on. Our life seems so darn boring right now that I feel like I don't have anything interesting to say.
The boys go to school.
We go to soccer games.
We go to baseball games.
We buy groceries.
We pray and wait and pray that we will get a baby girl.
We clean the house and work in the yard.
Don't you just wish you were me? Yep, it's a bunch of thrills around here!

Birthday Party at Chuck E. Cheese

Justin really wanted a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese this year. Since I was a total loser last year and he didn't even get a birthday party, we decided to oblige. It wasn't all my fault that he got no party, but I still felt bad. Anywhoo, we ended up only getting ahold of two of his friends, so it was a small party, but it was fun.

Chuck E. Cheese is extremely busy on Saturday afternoons. Holey moley! I was so worried that someone would get lost/injured/stepped on, that I didn't get many photos taken. I did get this one of Justin "driving." Gotta love the concentration tongue! :)

I didn't even remember to take a picture of all of us while we were there. Duh. So I snapped this one in the car. These are his two best buddies, Ben & Hunter.
And yes, Brandon is taking a nap in the back seat. That kid can fall asleep anywhere. Wish I was that lucky!

All in all, it was a great day. Much better than our frozen trip to the zoo. :)

Less than stellar trip to the zoo

Last Friday I went to Hogle Zoo with Justin's kindergarten class. Even though it was freezing cold, the zoo would not let them reschedule. I thought that was pretty stinky of them.

Here's a picture of me and Justin with one of his friends Mari and her dad. We hadn't been there very long, so everyone is still smiling. ;)
And of course no trip to the zoo is complete without this photo:

I was grateful we were only there half a day, because it was very cold. Loved the wet balls of snow that would fall on your head every time you walked under one of the trees. The best part? Most of the animals weren't even out. Hello, if you're going to have a bunch of kids visiting the zoo, shouldn't the animals be out?
Here is the list of animals that were not out yet for the summer:
-Bears (even the polar bears for crying out loud)
-Elephants
-Rhinos
-Kangaroos
-Penguins
-Gorillas and Apes
Here is what we did see:
-Wolf
-Tigers
-Camels
-Monkeys (this was one of the only warm places in the zoo, so it was so crowded you could barely see them)
-a bunch of small animals
Also, the drinking fountains were still wrapped up for the winter, and the water in the bathroom sink was freezing cold. I've never been a huge fan of Hogle Zoo, but my opinion of them just sank a little lower. We'll have to go again this year just so Justin won't remember the zoo as a freezing cold, boring place with pictures of animals but no actual animals!
